Agenda for Later Life

This conferences takes a fresh approach to our ageing population. While the Government is starting to address some of the big challenges associated with ageing, all parts of society need to develop a long-term ageing strategy. This conference aims to bring together an insight into the impact of public policy on the way we age and set the context for the wider challenge to individuals, communities and the private sector, to play their part in responding to our ageing society.

You will receive your own free copy of 'Agenda for Later Life 2012' launched at the conference. This new-look report is the definitive annual publication on public policy for later life.

The 2012 “Intensive course on Ageing” will be organized in Barcelona, Spain (June 21 and 22, 2012) under the auspices of the IAGG (International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics). OPENING DOORS - Scientific Workshops for Young Researchers An initiative aimed at promoting links between young scientists from the UK and Spain

WORKSHOP on “The Biology of Ageing”. British Council/CSIC Parador de Carmona, (Seville, Spain), 11 - 15 March 2012

The British Council (BC) in Spain in collaboration with the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) is organising a series of scientific workshops to provide opportunities for researchers from the UK and Spain to meet face-to-face for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on priority topics and to explore future areas of research and collaboration.  
The workshop will consist of 10 keynote presentations of 30min each (5 from Spanish researchers and 5 from British researchers) and 15min presentation from the rest of the participants, early to mid career researchers (10 from the UK and 10 from Spain) to be selected from those applying. The official language for all presentations will be English.
