Experimental Gerontology provides a forum for the publication of work that elucidates the processes of biological aging in fungi, plants, animals, and humans from the molecular level to that of the whole organism. Experimental Gerontology publishes original work in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, neurosciences, nutrition, immunology, and endocrinology. The journal also aims at bridging the gap between basic and clinical aspects of gerontology by publishing papers on basic aspects of age-related diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease, atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, benign prostatic hyperplasia and other proliferative and metabolic disorders of the aged.

Aging Cell publishes novel and exciting science which addresses fundamental issues in the biology of aging. All areas of aging biology are welcome in the journal and the experimental approaches used can be wide-ranging. With the rapid developments in genomic sequencing and analysis, and availability of new technologies to analyse functional genomics and proteomics, the combined powers of genetics, biochemistry and cell biology are leading to the very rapid production of new information. Aging Cell welcomes the results of these programmes.

Rejuvenation Research publishes cutting-edge work on rejuvenation therapies in the laboratory and clinic, as well as the latest research relevant to what these novel therapeutic approaches must do at the molecular and cellular level in order to be truly effective.

Mechanisms of Ageing and Development is a multidisciplinary journal aimed at revealing the molecular, biochemical, and biological mechanisms that underlie the process of ageing and the development of age-associated disease. Emphasis is placed on investigations that delineate the contribution of (1) oxidative damage and/or cellular metabolism; (2) genetic instability; (3) telomere integrity; (4) mitochonidrial function; (5) genetic programs. Not of interest are (1) studies on age changes that are purely descriptive and which do not address the underlying mechanisms; (2) clinical, psychological or social case studies and reports. Manuscripts in basic research areas relevant to the aims and scope are welcomed

Age and Ageing is an international journal publishing refereed original articles and commissioned reviews on geriatric medicine and gerontology. Its range includes research on ageing and clinical, epidemiological and psychological aspects of later life

From October 2001 to June 2006, Science's SAGE KE provided news, reviews, commentaries, disease case studies, databases, and other resources pertaining to aging-related research. Although SAGE KE has now ceased publication, we invite you to search and browse the article content on this archive site. Access is free to AAAS members and to registered users of the Science sites.

Biogerontology has now developed a solid scientific base with respect to the understanding of the phenomenon of aging. A spectrum of new and innovative strategies and approaches are being increasingly applied to modulate the process of aging at the level of cells, tissues, organs and organisms. Biogerontology represents this step in research which aims primarily at achieving healthy old age accompanied by improved longevity. The focus is on attempts to understand, prevent, cure or minimize age-related impairments.
